| As a college student at UC Boulder, I decided to take a semester off to travel to New Zealand for a few months with a crew of great friends. Equipped with a handful of surfboards, river kayaks, a broken-down VW bus, a giant ziplock of Kodachrome and a beat up old Nikon 20/20, I became hooked on traveling and on photography. Upon returning to Boulder and wrapping up my degree in the environmental sciences, I knew that I needed to follow my camera and find my place in the professional photo industry. When I left Colorado in the late 90's I headed back home to the Bay Area and quickly found myself spending all my cash on film, setting up a small shooting studio and working multiple jobs in an effort to gain as much photo knowledge as possible. A few lucky breaks and additional trips overseas pushed my passion further and increased my desire to learn more. A job working with Doug Menuez ultimately brought me to New York City. I have spent the last 8 years working freelance as a studio manager, producer, photographer, digital capture tech, photo assistant, lighting tech and workshop instructor for many top photographers and production teams around the globe. Corey and I first met a few years back at the Rich Clarkson Adventure Photography Workshop in Jackson, WY where we were both teaching. I was immediately impressed by Corey's work, and of course was excited to hear his hair raising stories detailing how he has captured so many amazing images. Four years later, my wife and I are excited to be back in California, starting our family and taking advantage of all that the Sierras and the West Coast has to offer. Becoming part of the team at Corey Rich Productions has been a natural fit and I am thrilled to be playing an integral part in the future success of CRP. |
